Artist's Description
Plen aire painting is challenging to say the least. As the sun moves across the sky, the lighting and colors are constantly changing. As an artist, plen aire is a great discipline for me, since I have no time to fuss, just get the painting done quickly. I usually spend no more than 2 hours with a particular piece and rarely touch it up in the studio (this one had no touch ups, although I was tempted.) As I was looking at the piece, trying to decide whether to add to it or not, a fog swooped in on the Gulf in less than 5 minutes. The fog and not the artist decided that this was a finished piece.
