Artist's Description
The first Christmas trees were hung upside down from the ceiling of the house using chains and hooks in order to keep the goodies away from the children. They were decorated with apples, nuts, cakes, candy and other edibles rather than putting the presents under the trees. While millions of Americans use natural trees, the first artificial tree was made of dyed goose feathers wrapped around a dowel. 80% of manufactured trees are now manufactured in China.
