Artist's Description
When I was a cub scout den mother, I used candles to maintain discipline among my group. Since candles burn at a steady rate, they make perfect timers. I measured how much of a candle would burn during a regular meeting, then marked a fresh candle incrementally. I would provide the boys with a treat once the candle burned down to a specific mark, but I would blow it out if anyone misbehaved during the meeting. It worked like a charm, the boys would police one another, in hopes of earning a bag full of goodies based on their angelic behavior.
