Artist's Description
This is my first painting of the decade!!!! The original is a commission requested by the customer after seeing the other similar pieces I have done. This is a popular theme!!! My grandmother used to tell me stories of her childhood as a sharecropper. This reminds me of the simple values she taught us. After leaving the south, she married and raised 7 children, all of which are college educated in spite of her having to drop out in 8th grade. I am so proud to be a descendant of such decent, honest people.
